17µ suits light to medium, stable loads and everyday boxes. 23µ is the safer default for heavier or taller pallets, mixed loads, and anything with edges that could nick thinner film — the small extra cost per carton is cheaper than a load failing in transit.

In many applications, yes. Our higher-performance 17µ film can often replace lower-spec 23–25µ film elsewhere, delivering similar performance while reducing material usage.

Standard core is the usual cardboard core, best used with a hand dispenser for the most consistent tension. Extended core has handles moulded into a longer core, so you can wrap by hand with no dispenser — the practical choice for removals, mobile jobs and quick top-ups. Same film either way.

Not necessarily. Standard core rolls work best with a dispenser, but extended core rolls are built for confident manual use without one.

Clear keeps labels, barcodes and contents visible — useful for stock checks and picking. Black conceals what’s on the pallet and gives a tidier, more uniform finish. Neither is stronger; it’s a visibility choice.

Film made by extruding onto a chilled roller. It unwinds quietly, clings well and stays clear, which is why it’s the usual choice for hand wrapping. It clings to itself rather than needing an adhesive, so it leaves no sticky residue or glue behind when removed — useful for keeping barcodes and labels visible during handling.

Our current range is hand film in standard and extended core. Machine wrapping needs machine film, which is a different product — get in touch if you need this and we’ll advise.

Every roll is 400mm wide and 250m long, supplied 6 rolls per carton. Pallets per roll depends on pallet size, load height, overlap and how many turns you apply, so we don’t publish a fixed figure — we publish the real length and weight of every roll instead, so you can work it out accurately and compare rolls fairly.

Higher stretch capability means less material is needed per pallet. Combined with a genuinely heavier roll (2.43kg vs typical ~1.2kg for the same advertised specification elsewhere), that means fewer roll changes and lower overall packaging cost per pallet wrapped.

Keep rolls upright, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat, and use stock on a first-in-first-out basis. UV exposure and heat can weaken cling and stretch performance over time.

Yes. Our film contains 30%+ recycled material and is recyclable through soft plastic recycling points where LDPE/LLDPE film is accepted — it should not go in standard household recycling bins.
