23 micron black extended core pallet wrap, 6 rolls per box

This is our heavy-duty black stretch film on an extended core. The core is 570mm long, so it sticks out about 85mm past the film at each end. You hold those ends like handles and wrap straight away, with no dispenser to buy, carry or look after.

Black film hides what’s on the pallet and keeps light off the goods. At 23 micron it’s strong enough for loads over 500kg, sharp edges and long journeys. Each roll is 400mm by 250m, weighs 2.43kg and contains at least 30% post-consumer recycled plastic.

What it’s good for

If you wrap a lot of pallets from one spot, a standard core roll on a dispenser will be quicker. If you need to see through the wrap, the same roll comes in clear.

Using it

Hold one end of the core in each hand, fix the film to the pallet and walk round it, pulling back slightly to stretch the film as it comes off. Hold the ends loosely so the core can turn, and keep your fingers off the film. Our guide on how to wrap a pallet properly shows the pattern to follow.

As you can’t read through black film, put labels on the outside of the last layer.

Frequently asked questions

What is extended core stretch film?

It’s normal stretch film wound on a core that’s longer than the film. The extra length at each end works as a handle, so you can wrap by hand without a dispenser.

Is the film different from standard core?

No. It’s the same 23 micron film with the same strength and stretch. Only the core is different.

Can I put it on a dispenser?

Usually not. Most hand dispensers are made for 50mm standard cores. If you already have a dispenser, buy the standard core version.

Why choose black film?

It hides the goods, which puts off casual theft and keeps branded or high-value stock out of sight. It also keeps light off the load.

Is this the same as shrink wrap?

Lots of people call it black shrink wrap. You pull it as you wrap and it clings to itself, so it holds pallets, boxes, furniture, tools and most other loads firmly in place and out of sight.
