23 micron black pallet wrap, 6 rolls per box

This is our heavy-duty black stretch film. It’s as strong as our 23 micron clear film, but you can’t see through it. That hides what’s on the pallet from anyone passing in a yard, depot or lorry, and keeps light off the goods underneath.

Each roll is 400mm by 250m and weighs 2.43kg. Like all our film, it contains at least 30% post-consumer recycled plastic.

What it’s good for

• Valuable or branded stock you’d rather not show off in transit
• Goods that shouldn’t sit in sunlight
• Pallets over 500kg, uneven loads and sharp edges
• Long-distance and export deliveries
• Pallets stored outside for a while

If you need to see labels or scan barcodes through the wrap, choose 23 micron clear instead.

Using it

The 50mm core fits a standard hand dispenser, which keeps the tension even and makes heavy pallets much easier to wrap. For machine wrapping, contact us to confirm the correct film and compatibility before ordering. As you can’t read through black film, put delivery labels and paperwork on the outside of the last layer, or in a document pouch stuck to the wrap.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose black film instead of clear?

Mainly for privacy. Black film hides the goods, which puts off casual theft and keeps branded or high-value stock out of sight. It also keeps light off the load. It holds a pallet just as well as clear film of the same thickness.

Does black film cost more?

A little. At our current prices it’s about £1 a box more than the same film in clear.

How do I label a pallet wrapped in black film?

Stick the label on the outside of the final layer, or use a document pouch. Don’t put it underneath, as nobody will be able to read it.

Does black film contain recycled plastic too?

Yes. It contains at least 30% post-consumer recycled plastic, the same as our clear film.

Is this the same as black shrink wrap?

Lots of people call it black shrink wrap. You pull it as you wrap and it clings to itself, so it holds pallets, boxes, furniture, tools and most other loads firmly in place and out of sight.
