Where stretch film fits in fulfilment

Stretch film is not your mailer or your box, it is what holds everything together at the pallet and bundle level:

Outbound pallets for couriers and pallet networks. Consolidating packed orders into a stable, wrapped pallet for collection, with labels readable through clear film.

Consolidating multi-item orders. Bundling several boxes or items into one secure unit before it goes out.

Securing totes and returns. Keeping tote contents and returns together as they move between goods-in, pick faces and despatch.

Protecting inbound stock. Keeping received pallets stable and clean in the racking until they are broken down.

What matters on a fulfilment bench

Speed to grab and go. During a run, an extended-core roll with built-in handles is off the shelf and wrapping with no dispenser to set up. For steady, continuous wrapping, a standard-core roll on a dispenser gives the tightest finish with the least effort per pallet.

Scannability. Clear film keeps despatch labels and barcodes readable through the wrap, so nothing has to be unwrapped to be scanned or checked at handover.

Staying stocked through peak. Ecommerce volume is spiky. Buying by the pallet and reordering from UK stock with same-day dispatch keeps a buffer behind the bench so a busy week does not turn into an empty despatch area.

Consistency at speed. When rolls are made to the same length and weight, a rushed peak-season wrap holds as well as a quiet-Tuesday one, and your film usage stays predictable enough to plan stock around.

Recommended rolls for fulfilment

For bench speed: 23μ Clear (Extended Core). Built-in handles, no dispenser, straight into use. Ideal for quick consolidation and mixed benches.

For steady, higher-volume wrapping: 23μ Clear (Standard Core). On a dispenser, the most consistent and least tiring option for continuous outbound pallets.

For lighter parcels and boxes: 17μ Clear (Standard Core). The economical roll for lighter, stable bundles where the extra gauge is not needed.

For loads better kept out of sight: 23μ Black (Standard Core). Opaque wrap for outbound pallets on shared courier transport, or for a tidier finish.

No, our current range is stretch film: pallet wrap and bundling film. It is what secures pallets and consolidates multi-item orders, rather than the packaging around a single parcel.

How do we avoid running out during peak?
