Every roll of Hilux Poly pallet wrap contains at least 30% post-consumer recycled plastic. That is our standard film, not a premium eco line with a higher price. You get the same 400mm × 250m roll, the same stretch and the same cling, with less new plastic in it.

What “30% recycled” actually means
Post-consumer recycled plastic, often shortened to PCR, is plastic that has already been used, collected, cleaned and reprocessed. It is different from factory offcuts that are fed straight back into the same machine, which never reached a customer in the first place.
In our film, at least 30% of the plastic by weight is PCR. The rest is new polyethylene, which gives the film its stretch and puncture resistance. Getting that blend right is what lets a recycled roll wrap a pallet as well as a roll made only from new plastic.
Why 30% matters: the Plastic Packaging Tax
Since April 2022, the UK Plastic Packaging Tax has been charged on plastic packaging that contains less than 30% recycled plastic. The tax falls on the business that makes or imports the packaging, and it is usually passed down the supply chain in the price you pay.

Does recycled content make the film weaker?
Not in normal hand wrapping. Our rolls stretch by up to 500%, and the 23 micron film is thick enough for heavy and mixed loads. Where film does tear, the cause is usually technique or the wrong thickness for the load, not recycled content. Our guide Why does pallet wrap keep tearing? covers the usual causes and fixes.

After use: recycling the film
Stretch film is low-density polyethylene, recycling code 4. Clean, dry used wrap can go through commercial film recycling. Many waste contractors collect it separately from general waste, and it is worth more to them when it isn’t mixed with tape, labels or cardboard. Not from us. 30%+ recycled content is our standard film, so there is no separate eco price.
Does black pallet wrap contain recycled plastic too?
Yes. Our clear and black rolls both contain at least 30% post-consumer recycled plastic.
Can I get recycled-content details for my own reporting?
Yes. If you need recycled-content details for Plastic Packaging Tax records or a sustainability report, contact us with your order number.
Do you supply recycled pallet wrap in bulk?
Yes. Order by the carton online, or ask for trade and pallet pricing if you use more than a few cartons a month.
